Completely palindromic formal haiku - a real challenge

Hi everyone, I just joined up because this looks like a good place to 'publish' palindromic haiku. I've seen some other attemps here, and they're good efforts, but they're made up of 3 seperate palindromic lines. It's a real challenge of cerebral fitness, but I've managed to create a fairly meaningful one in formal haiku syllabic structure, and where the whole thing is palindromic across all three lines. Here goes: Enola draws dell If Reed's pool flows, as wolf loops Deer filled sward alone. I was inspired to submit to the mental rigour of making that after recently watching the 'Holoshop' episode of Red Dwarf, in which Rimmer, after having the minds of two geniuses melded with his own, and newly sporting thickly-rimmed glasses and goatee, cheerfully said "I wrote a palindromic haiku this morning".

Excellent!

Thank you, that's great. I've seen a couple of attempts at palindromic haiku, though I assume the Red Dwarf reference was a joke. Let's make it real!

Then again, as Dan Draisin said in our first issue, "Ukiah's pot tops haiku." (Ukiah is a city in Northern California.)

PALINDROMIC HAIKU

That's realy great and difficult to make. Congratulations! Here is two more haiku's made up also from palindromic lines (with translation to japanese):

1.
DEW ON ROSES OR NO, WED:
DRAB BUD, А DUB BARD,
SAW TIDE ROSE? SO RED IT WAS.

- TRANSLATION TO JAPANESE -
薔薇の露それとも違うもの、婚姻:
くすんだ茶色の芽、へぼ詩人
潮が満ちるのを見た?とても赤かったよ。

2.
SUN IS RED. NO WONDER SIN US.
PASSION, NO IS SAP.
NO SIGN IN EVENING IS ON.

- TRANSLATION TO JAPANESE -
太陽は赤、何があってもお咎めなし
受難、欲情はなし
夜の印一つだにないままに

(Dalibor Drekic, Belgrade, May, 2011.)
(Nyuusen in the 16TH Kusamakura international haiku competition, Kumamoto, Japan, 2011.)

Glad you liked it

Hi there, nice to see your replies. Don't know why it didn't appear properly, all those & # 3 9 things masquerading as apostrophes messed it up. I will try again:

Enola draws dell
If Reed's pool flows, as wolf loops
Deer-filled sward alone

That was my second attempt. My first didn't have the correct syllabic structure, and is a bit more abstract and with vulgar imagery. I'll try and remember:

Rats emit pus
As tide-god's dog
Edits a sup-time star

I like the ones made up of 3 separate palindromes too, it might be a bit easier. One day I'll try writing a third one, but I have to be in the mood for a serious mental stretch and work-out. Guess not while I'm studying.

Red Dwarf didn't show the palindromic haiku, it was merely mentioned as a humourus example of high genius. Don't worry, if I ever claim high genius for myself, it will be humourous.

Wonder if mine would translate well into Japanese.....

palindromic haiku

I have written quite a number of these with varying degrees of success and have posted several to my Twitter feed, Ailihphilia. Today's from mid-1990s:
Sonar posset, a/ lulu's sensuousness ul-/ ulates: sopranos!
Will add more in future. Full disclosure: I lived in Ukiah CA, aetat 4-7 (1976-'99). During that period began composing palindromes willy-nilly and conceived the notion of writing a real doozy upon which I embarked in earnest in my late teens. Still working on it!

haiku

one of my more successful efforts in this line, from last fall:

Oak, dove, temple: hymn
In mutual autumn, in my
Helpmete vodka. O!
